About this hotel
Axel Hotel Barcelona, the first hotel of the chain, opened in 2003 in a modernist 19th-century building in the heart of the Eixample, the area known as the Queerxample. It is an adults-only hotel without labels, created by and for the LGBTQ community and open to everyone who shares its spirit of freedom. Its 101 rooms are spread over six floors behind stained-glass windows and connected balconies. The rooftop has a pool, a skybar and views over the city, and there is a wellness club with a fitness area. Nikkei 103 serves a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, and the Groundbar is a meeting point for guests and locals. Fashion shops, restaurants, bars and clubs fill the surrounding streets.
