La Casona del Patio is a hotel in a 17th-century house listed as a Site of Cultural Interest in Santiago del Teide, in the west of Tenerife, once the residence of the Marquis Don Fernando del Hoyo Solórzano. The house stands on land marked by the island's last eruptions, where tradition, history and culture meet Canarian pine wood and the volcanic ash of the Chinyero volcano. The standard rooms of about 35 m² are bright, spacious and quiet, with a flat-screen TV and a large bathroom with bathtub, while the upper-floor rooms have traditional Canarian pitched wooden ceilings. The executive rooms of about 50 m² have a desk and an extra-large bathroom, and the superior rooms of about 47 m² have a private terrace with mountain views. The hotel is built around outdoor experiences, with hiking on volcanic trails, cross training, cycling on mountain passes and yoga sessions, and from January to April the almond trees and broom bloom in the Santiago del Teide valley. It also has a coworking space, making it a good choice for active travellers, couples and remote workers seeking history and nature in the west of Tenerife.
