Summum Boutique Hotel Meliá Collection occupies the Can Berga-Ladària Palace, built in 1570 in the heart of Palma's old town among cobbled streets and Gothic buildings. This avant-garde boutique hotel keeps the palace's noble Mallorcan character while adding today's comforts. Rooms have high ceilings typical of the old town houses, soft island tones and, in some cases, furnished terraces or a free-standing bathtub. The finest suite rests beneath a 19th-century fresco by the painter Francesc Parietti and has a balcony and a relaxation area. The old stables now house the elegant Equus restaurant, which serves Mediterranean cuisine and breakfast, and the 16th-century vaulted cistern has become a wellness area. A rooftop solarium with a shallow plunge pool overlooks the rooftops, making the hotel an atmospheric base for couples exploring Palma on foot.
