Gran Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz opened in 1890 as the first luxury grand hotel in Spain and has welcomed royalty and famous guests such as King Alfonso XIII, the Duke of Kent and Agatha Christie. Fine dining is a highlight: OKA, led by two-Michelin-starred chef Ricardo Sanz, specialises in Japanese and Japanese-Mediterranean cuisine, LAVA is directed by award-winning chef Erlantz Gorostiza, and La Carola pool bar and restaurant offers a more relaxed setting.
