Hostal Mare Nostrum is an urban, independent hostal on La Rambla, on the corner of Carrer de Sant Pau between the Boqueria market and the Liceu opera house, right by the Liceu metro station. Small by choice, it has no gym or pool but focuses on personal, welcoming service with a responsible and sustainable outlook, including support for a local NGO. The rooms, from singles to twins, triples with an extra bed and family rooms for up to four, are decorated with colourful patterned tiles and have air conditioning, a TV, a telephone and a private bathroom, and some open onto balconies over the street.
