Hostal Ramos is a family business that opened just before the 1992 Olympic Games with about ten rooms and has grown since, run by family members and staff who have been there almost from the start. It occupies a building from 1850 that was once a hospice and a convent, and it keeps a beautiful interior courtyard, original ornamental ceilings and a majestic entrance hall with a chequered floor. The rooms range from interior singles and doubles to standard and superior doubles and twins with balconies over the square or the street, triples for three guests and a Classic Suite with a whirlpool bath, a separate living room and a large terrace full of plants. Every room has a private bathroom, air conditioning, heating, a television, a telephone and a safe. The reception is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, luggage is stored free of charge, and there is an Illy coffee machine and vending machines. La Rambla and the Boqueria market are a short walk away, which makes it a good base for couples, friends and small families exploring the old town on foot.
