Hotel Hacienda de Abajo is an adults-only hotel in the heart of Tazacorte, on the west coast of La Palma, set in the historic Hacienda de Abajo, the island's first and richest sugar plantation, and the first emblematic hotel of the Canary Islands. Its 32 rooms of 32 to 74 m², from superior and premium rooms to suites in the main historic building, are decorated with works of art from the 1st to the 20th century, and most have a balcony, terrace or garden. A lush botanical garden surrounds the heated pool, the spa with jacuzzi, sauna and whirlpool bath, and outdoor areas for exercise, yoga or a personal trainer. The main restaurant, El Sitio, serves signature and local cuisine with views over the Atlantic, while La Salita offers casual market cooking and the Pool Cocktail Bar mixes drinks by the water. The Mirador El Sitio, in the tower of the old hacienda, is the place to watch the sunset over the banana plantations and the sea. Close to the beach of Puerto de Tazacorte, the hotel suits couples looking for art, history, gastronomy and calm on La Palma.
