Hotel Monopol is a hotel full of character and old-world charm in the pedestrian heart of Puerto de la Cruz, on the north coast of Tenerife. It stands close to the town's three loveliest squares and the colourful flower market, a few minutes' walk from the old town and the sea. Its façade greets guests with traditional Canarian wooden balconies. Beyond the reception, a typical Canarian patio with palm trees and tropical climbers rising to the glass roof is surrounded on all sides by hand-carved verandas, inviting guests to linger. Managed by the same family for more than ninety years, it offers modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi throughout, while keeping the old style of hospitality summed up in its motto: our guests are our friends. It is spacious enough never to feel crowded yet small enough to feel personal, making it ideal for couples and travellers who appreciate history and a central location.
