About this hotel
Casa Rural La Gañanía is a family country house in Los Realejos, in the north of Tenerife, a place where time slows down for those who prefer to experience the island calmly. Behind whitewashed stone walls and wooden ceilings, the house has held the owners' family history since 1894, and after a careful restoration it opened to rural tourism in 1998 as one of the first rural houses on the island. It is divided into two independent spaces that can be booked separately or together: La Casa Grande, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms for four people, restored family furniture and an inner courtyard, and La Casita del Jardín, a cosy one-bedroom retreat for two surrounded by greenery. The central courtyard once served as a small school where the owners' great-grandmother taught neighbours to read and write, and the house still keeps that spirit of a meeting place. From here guests can explore the whole island at an easy pace, from natural rock pools and quiet coves to Mount Teide, volcanic trails, forests and historic villages. It suits couples, families and small groups of friends looking for authenticity and calm in northern Tenerife.
