About this hotel
Hacienda La Centenaria is an estate of more than 5,000 square metres in the upper part of El Paso, in the centre of La Palma, at about 750 metres above sea level, with views of the sea, the Tajogaite volcano and the Caldera de Taburiente. Its three adjoining cottages are former animal shelters and farm buildings from the 17th century, renovated in traditional Canarian style and decorated in a rustic-colonial manner with country antiques and every modern comfort. Each cottage of 60 to 65 square metres has a separate bedroom, a living and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower, plus a private sun terrace with loungers and its own barbecue. More than 80 almond and fruit trees perfume the gardens around the pool, shared with friendly cats, birds of prey and lizards. The owner, Sonia, lives in the main house, a former tobacco warehouse from the early 20th century, and is there to help her guests. Reserved for adults, La Centenaria suits couples who want rural peace, starry skies and the trails of the island's heart.
