Hotel Rural Villa Hermigua occupies a traditional 120-year-old Gomeran mansion in the green valley of Hermigua, in the north of La Gomera, restored in 2000 as an authentic rural hotel between the sea and the Garajonay National Park. Its twelve rooms are spread over five levels around a pleasant central courtyard full of plants. Each is decorated in rustic style, with a full bathroom, satellite TV, a hairdryer, toiletries and free Wi-Fi. A full breakfast is served in the dining room, where traditional Gomeran dinners with live music can be arranged for groups, and a terrace and a covered lounge look out over the whole valley. The island's more than 600 kilometres of trails, the misty laurel forests of Garajonay and the beach of Santa Catalina are close by, and San Sebastián is 14 kilometres away. Villa Hermigua suits walkers and couples looking for a simple, authentic stay in the north of the island.
