La Casona de Yaiza is a small emblematic hotel in the village of Yaiza, in the south of Lanzarote, set in a rustic manor house that a local landowner built in 1825 as his summer residence facing the Fenauso valley. In the 21st century the house was restored by a team of artists and craftsmen, and the painter Germán Carrégalo filled its interiors with decorative art inspired by the Italian Renaissance and the Spanish painters of the School of Rome. The emblematic rooms, junior suite and suite in the historic wing are furnished in classic style, the suite with a designer bathtub, while the Superior rooms in the modern wing have a terrace or balcony, and two-bedroom Superior rooms sleep families of up to four. Breakfast is included, and the restaurant serves Canarian cooking made with fresh local produce, paired with a selection of Canary Island wines. Guests can relax at the outdoor pool, the solarium, the jacuzzi and the terrace, and parking and WiFi are free. The hotel suits couples and families who want a quiet, characterful base a few minutes from the Timanfaya National Park and a short drive from the Papagayo beaches.
