Taurito is a small resort in the municipality of Mogán on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria, set at the mouth of a long ravine. It lies about 6 km from Puerto de Mogán, between Playa del Cura and the Mogán marina. The 160 m beach has dark volcanic sand and gentle waves, with lifeguards, showers, sunbeds and kayak rental. Sea caves at the edge of the bay can be reached at low tide and are known for the sunsets seen through their openings. Boat trips and scuba diving start from the beach, and a promenade with shops and restaurants runs behind it. The Lago Taurito water park has slides, a saltwater pool, mini-golf, bowling and tennis courts. The resort is made up of hotels and apartment complexes, many of them with pools and all-inclusive packages. Puerto de Mogán, with its canals and Friday market, and the beaches of Puerto Rico are a short drive away. Taurito has its own exit (67) on the GC-1 motorway, less than 1 km from the coast, which makes the journey from the airport easy.
